Key responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians in surgical procedures, including preparation, monitoring, and post-operative care.
- Administer medications and treatments under the supervision of veterinarians.
- Provide compassionate care and handling of animals, ensuring their comfort and well-being.
- Perform routine diagnostic tests, such as blood work and urinalysis.
- Maintain accurate medical records and update client information.
- Educate pet owners on preventative care, nutrition, and overall pet health.
- Assist with reception duties, including scheduling appointments and client communication.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including sterilizing instruments and equipment.
- Restrain animals to allow examination and treatment by Veterinarians
- Clean and sterilize examination tables and equipment
- preparing instruments and handing them to the Veterinarian
- Maintaining stock control and records
- Providing animal care advice, and preparing, delivering, and reviewing animal care education programs
Experience and qualifications
- Certificate IV in Veterinary Nurse of above
- 3 years full-time experience as a clinical vet nurse
- Strong knowledge of veterinary procedures, animal care, and clinic operations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Compassionate, patient, and dedicated to providing the best care for animals.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new techniques and procedures.
